Reddit Page Dedicated to the Rape and Sexual Abuse of Lesbians is Run by White Queer People
This piece examines how lesphobia is laundered through progressive language, how predators exploit queer identity to evade accountability, and how lesbians are once again left to defend our humanity inside a movement that cries out for unity while refusing to hold itself accountable.
Within the past few months, the online Lesbian and Queer communities have become aware of the existence of a certain subreddit, “r/dykeconversion” – a subreddit that exists as a “safe space” for those who actively seek to participate and encourage the sexual violation, grooming, and rape of lesbians.
The lesbian community is enraged, and the white queer community is jumping to defend the subreddit.
According to http://www.redective.com, the subreddit was created 10/17/2021 at 4:29PM and currently has a total of 54,493 subscribers – over 54K. Most of which are non-lesbians. In particular, the subscribers are mainly cis men, trans women, and bisexual cis women.

The creator of the subreddit is a bisexual trans man who used the alias “divergent_curiosity” and previously identified as a lesbian woman. They also posted about their fantasy of raping radical feminists they called TERFs.

Of course, rule number 4 is poorly enforced, one of the current top-ranking posts on r/dyleconversion, posted more than 2 weeks ago, is titled “I became bi thanks to you guys ❤️” from 22-year-old user “Gullible_Use1565” – the comments and replies are predictable:

Both mods of r/dykeconversion “aimless_ascendent” and “jimskog99” are white and AMAB. The username of one of the mods, jimskog99, who is also admin and mod on many other porn subreddits, links back to an individual by the name of James “Jimmy” Skogseth – AKA James Krask.

James hasn’t stopped going by the name James, and his girlfriend calls him a man, and uses he/him pronouns. However, he also goes by the name “Kia Tight” and “Kianna Skogseth.”

James has asked for ownership of many other porn and fetish subreddits, frequently NSFW lesbian subreddits.

Though, he has made other requests for porn subreddits that are not lesbian-centered, including a bestiality subreddit that he calls “just a joke” and a “hentai schoolgirls” subreddit. He’s also made a request for a porn subreddit dedicated to the cartoonized CP of an underage character.

The information contained in this article is publicly-sourced and posted without malicious intent. This article exists to bring awareness to a subreddit that places lesbians in active harm, and shine a spotlight on the individuals who run and maintain it. This subreddit and the individuals who support it perpetuate lesbphobia.
The other mod of r/dykeconversion, “aimless_ascendent” uses “trans lesbian” reddit flair, while Krask uses “lesbian” – misleading users into assuming that he is AFAB and homosexual (“cis lesbian” for those incapable of understanding). Until recently, Krask stated that he is pansexual. One look at his profile makes it obvious that Krask is not a lesbian, nor a woman, despite his claims of being a “cock-obsessed lesbian” (spoiler: there’s no such thing).

Krask openly admits to being a porn-addict, and to messaging an author of a “very touching lesbian story” on Tumblr, who then blocked Krask after discovering his porn-filled Tumblr account. Something Krask seems to find funny. He also admits to exposing his 11-year-old brother to porn when he, krask, was a teen.

An analysis of jimskog99’s reddit posts and FB connections show that around the time his mother and sister (the latter of whom appears to celebrate pride) dyed their hair pink, Krask started posting porn content of a pink-haired woman. There’s no knowing if Krask had a fetish for pink-haired lesbians before this, or even if Krask suggested that they dye their hair pink, but it’s certainly an odd coincidence.
Krask likes to fabricate grandiose lies about several events including meeting, living with, and sleeping with his favorite porn author, converting his “gold-star lesbian girlfriend” via hypnotism (a kink he claims to have had after exposing neighborhood girls to it at 11 years old), and being anything other than a lesbian-fetishizing, predatory cis man.
At least, I hope his post about “converting a gold-star lesbian girlfriend” is fake beacuse the name and age of the claimed girlfriend doesn’t match up with his actual girlfriend listed on his Facebook profile, and also because James is currently in a relationship with a young, autistic woman. I worry deeply for her.

However, James also identifies as polyamorous and states that he has multiple online girlfriends. He considers his real-life girlfriend “silly” and states he gets frustrated with her and her “inability to treat things as serious.”

Like many incels, James blames his parents for making him get a job and forcing him to be a responsible adult, and for taking away his internet and Yu-Gi-Oh cards. He hides behind his Autism diagnosis and deems his parents abusive for encouraging him to go offline to take care of his chores. Like many white trans women with an incel past (and there are many), he found time to bash feminists in an MRA (men’s rights) subreddit.

The details shared by jimskog99 match up with people-search site info on James Krask, older reddit profile content matches up with the Facebook account content of James/Kia. The mother of James is FB friends with “Kianna” and there’s so much more evidence. Including a short posted on JimSkog99’s Youtube account. The house on display in the short matches the Google Maps image of the house listed as the current address for James Krask on TruePeopleSearch. According to online property records for Norfolk county, the house belongs to the Skogseth family.

As a brown, transmasc lesbian who spent my teen years in a country where corrective rape is a prescribed treatment and lesbians are honor-killed, and where my father tried to have me "corrected" by psychiatrists for having "too much male hormones" (his way of referring to my homosexuality), I take this shit seriously.
Stormé is rolling in her grave at the state of things. I want my gay rights, the right to be a homosexual right now! I’m tired of these straight LARPers, and I’m here at my laptop tonight writing this article at 3AM because I’m a dyke:
Marsha P. Johnson: I want my gay rights now!
I need other trans and queer people to start taking these predators seriously, too. The people who have been the loudest in their support of the subreddit’s right to exist identify as bisexual. Regardless of if you believe James Krask is a trans woman or a cis man, this subreddit is run by predators and facilitates a safe space for abusers.
Many lesbians are wary of trans women. From the sexual grooming of lesbians by trans women being supported and justified through “cotton-ceiling” rhetoric to the murder of an interracial lesbian couple who attended MitchFest by Dana Rivers – a white trans woman and prominent Camp Trans activist. A murder that also resulted in the death of one of their sons, and left their other children orphaned. The rumor, according to one queer author, is that one of the women had refused to have sex with Rivers.
Many queer people remain entirely, and blissfully unaware of intercommunity conflict, or refuse to hear about it at all, quick to deny that there ever has been any infighting. Many cannot hold space for the fact that marginalized people are capable of using the privilege they do hold to oppress other marginalized people.
This subreddit being run by individuals who claim to be trans women only adds to the apprehension. Which begs the question - what is the white queer community doing to hold predators like the individuals involved in creating and running the subreddit, accountable? Let alone holding murderers like Dana Rivers accountable.
What I have witnessed in response to these predators being called out, is white queer people claiming that these individuals were never really trans to begin with, in ironic "no true Scotsman" fashion. Either everyone who says they are trans is trans, and we as a community need to call out predatory trans people, or it's time to start addressing the issue of predators self-identifying as trans to garner support and avoid being held accountable.
But then, that would open an entirely new can of worms the community would rather turn a blind eye to and deny exists. The problem of predators misrepresenting themselves as transgender in order to gain access to, and exploit the trust of, potential victims. Which, as a gender non-conforming lesbian, is a pattern I have observed occurring in the last decade and find deeply disturbing.
I am far from the only one to notice a pattern, yet most of the other queer people I've encountered would rather quietly acknowledge it happens in private conversation and not publicly address it out of fear of fueling right-wing, anti-trans hate.
The truth is that the phenomenon of predators operating under the guise of being trans has gone unchecked long enough to raise public fear and fuel anti-trans hate. This fear has also caused butch lesbians and other gender non-conforming queer people to be accosted in bathrooms when we are not the problem.
Rather than erase the problem from existence, denial grants the alt-ring permission to be the only voice speaking on an issue that sits squarely on the shoulders of the queer community to address. It is an issue that is becoming increasingly more difficult to deny and as long as it goes unchecked, it only adds to LGBTQ+ Panic.
For some, their first impression of trans people and the queer community as a whole will be through sources dedicated to painting us as predators. While that may always be the case, not addressing these issues makes us both complicit as a community and paints us as an easy target.
Often, the only queer people willing to speak out against the exploitation of lesbians - are lesbians themselves. When we do speak, we are silenced, labeled as divisive, and pushed to the margins within a community that owes much of its liberation to the Black butch lesbian whose violent abuse by police was the spark that ignited the Stonewall uprising.
It makes extremist groups like Get The L Out seem like a much safer space. Yet these groups reject other lesbians who choose not to abandon the rest of the community, labeling every non-conforming lesbian who seeks gender-affirming care as complicit in supporting a movement that allows the abuse of lesbians to thrive.
It's hard to convince these groups that fighting for unity and inclusion of lesbians in the queer community is worthwhile, because at least on that point they're right, and it's a shameful thing. The L was moved to the front of the acronym because of our contribution and dedication to protecting queer community.
Where is our protection?
This piece isn't just about one subreddit dedicated to harming lesbians. This is about recognizing the sacrifice lesbians have consistently made. It's always been lesbians fighting for our collective liberation, only to still have our sexuality debated and fetishized both within and outside of the community.
In a patriarchal society, female homosexuality, or lesbianism, is the only sexuality that does not center or include people born with a penis. As a result, it is frequently targeted for being "exclusionary" while other sexualities face far less of a barrier to their acceptance.
Our identity is villainized, fetishized, and appropriated by AMAB queer people who label homosexual female people as "terfs" at every opportunity and utilize conversation therapy tactics to insist that lesbians "unlearn" their "genital preference". This groomer mentality sets my blood boiling in my veins.
There are many (often white) vocal trans women who insist that our sexuality can be changed, and that we can learn to like dick if we try hard enough or try it on a woman. Does that sound familiar? It should ring a bell, because it's the same sentiment as "you just haven't found the right man yet" - reworded in woke white leftist terminology.
These people are often supported by bisexual partners who appropriate a homosexual identity and go around telling lesbians to unlearn their genital preference, granting AMAB people the illusion that female homosexuality can be cured. They are also at times supported by the (frequently autistic) Black and Brown queer people they manage to groom into accepting new Westernized versions of gender boxes.
I'm pointing this out as a queer person of color whose roots lie in the Global South where gay people are still killed, raped, stoned, and thrown off of buildings when conversion therapy fails to "fix" us. I'm speaking up as that once young, autistic lesbian who was groomed by a white trans woman who gleefully proclaimed the joy derived from "corrupting people". I experienced a white bisexual person insisting that my sexual discomfort was a result of unchecked transphobia.
I am not the only one.
I met many other young lesbians like me in radical feminist spaces who also voiced not feeling safe speaking openly about the marginalization they experienced at the hands of other queer people. Many were also either autistic, lesbians of color, or frequently both.
Rather than create a new, better-fitting identity label when so many new boxes have already been created and celebrated, the lesbian label has been appropriated again and again by people who have not historically been subjected to the global oppression that lesbians have faced.
Meanwhile, lesbians are at times encouraged to use a new label entirely, gynesexual/gynosexual. A label that, while not even exclusively used by homosexuals, makes female homosexuality sound like a paraphilia or a fetish.
As part of the Indian diaspora, I often think - what does this mean for women in the Global South who have used the label of lesbian as a means to name their queer identity as homosexual women, and fight for their rights? What does redefining this term mean for them?
Over the years, I've noticed that the queer people who are willing to speak openly and honestly about this topic are frequently not white. When queer people say they've just never heard of any of this happening, take it as proof that they are only willing to center white voices.
Lesbians remain invalidated by jealous cis men who misquote outdated domestic abuse statistics to insinuate that lesbians are worse than men. Truthfully, lesbians in those studies had higher rates of abuse because most of the abuse experienced was in their prior heterosexual relationships with men.
We remain targeted by right-wing bible thumpers while simultaneously avoiding friendly fire that is swept under the rug by our own queer community.
This is not just about a subreddit. This subreddit is a result of what happens when predatory behavior is allowed to proceed, unchecked, for decades.
Lin Farley, the lesbian feminist who coined the phrase "sexual harassment" and called attention to the issue of sexual harassment of women in the workplace at Lesbian Rights rally 1974 NYC
I can't say that I know what the solution to this struggle is, but I don't think it's the separation of the L from the GBT, or the T from the LGB. Yet, how can a community come together when the harm isn't understood by most, or at least given the space to be named?
I do want to point out that apart from lesbians calling the subreddit out, a few vocal trans women have condemned the space, too. And maybe not so coincidentally, these trans women aren’t white.
Although it's a good start, this is not enough. We need to address these issues with the same ferocity as the lesbians who chased out NAMBLA when members of the pedophile organization infiltrated and tried to take over the gay rights movement in the 80s and 90s. An incident resulting in the International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA) being suspended from its consultative standing with the United Nations (U.N.). If we don't, we leave it up to those who continue to paint us as predators to be the only ones speaking - and they will only get bolder.
Rather than wait until that moment arises to form another group like the Boston-Boise Committee, when it comes to our community, we need to make it abundantly clear:
Abusers are not welcome here.
